Overview

The Marketing Communications Coordinator assists in the managing of AUD ‘s communications and marketing efforts, including public and media relations, event management, promotion activities, internet, and publications. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development of AUD’s image and building brand awareness with all stakeholders in the global marketplace.
Principal Responsibilities
Administer and implement all Communications efforts in media relations, event management, promotion activities, internet, and publications
Generate innovative Marketing Communications ideas
Manage print, audiovisual, and online “monitoring services” to ensure coverage of AUD activities is tracked, recorded, and archived
Maintain up-to-date databases including media, Alumni, potential sponsors, Advisory Board members, VIP lists, etc…
Assume related miscellaneous duties as assigned by MCM.
Media Relations
Cultivate relationships in broadcast, print, and online media (local, regional, and international) that result in media coverage.
Implement a strategic plan for increasing awareness of AUD activities through a full range of media outlets.
Implement a process for evaluation of potential “stories” to publicize.
Facilitate the writing, preparation, and distribution of press releases on a regularly scheduled basis.
Manage potential advertising opportunities for AUD in the media
Manage requests for interviews in the media
Competencies and Skills Utilized
Creative thinker with the ability to understand AUD’s wide-range of activities, and to promote and market those activities to global audiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on translating concepts into compelling and easily understandable terms.
Ability to represent AUD in a professional manner and easily communicate its mission to outside forums, including but not limited to the media.
Understanding of a wide range of marketing and communications mediums, including print, video, web, and social media.
Self-motivated and deadline-oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.
Strong team and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team with minimum supervision.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized, reputable university
Public Relations / Marketing Communications background
Track record of effectiveness in managing relationships
Familiarity with the UAE / Gulf business environment
Strong professional references
Ability to read, write and speak Arabic
Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
2-4 years’ of direct involvement handling Marketing Communications
Computer skills (thorough working knowledge of Windows; proficiency in word processing, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets; knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator a plus)
Photography skills
